Lettering is a unique art form. We all recognize the power of communicating effectively through perfectly selected words and sentences.

In this course, we were taught to understand the personality of different letterform styles, develop the skills to draw and experiment with them and create unique artwork based on some very invigorating exercises. We were introduced to the history and range of letterform styles, participated in intensive lettering and calligraphy drawing practice sessions using a range of materials and techniques, looked at combining colour and composition, and worked on assignments to explore the expressive and communicative potential of lettering. You'll be going through some of the exercises done in this course during a span of two weeks.

An exercise involved practice lettering on the floor with a floor mop using water as our medium.

We were to choose a person around us and to make a drop cap of the initial letter of the name keeping in mind the nature and the characteristics that person possesses. Drawn on glass door using Posca markers.

In this exercise we were suppose to make a name board for any two vendors in close proximity who can't afford one of their own. Done in a group consisting of five people.

This 'Typervention' was an exercise to practice typography wth materials. Our chosen material was board pins. Done in a group consisting of three people.
